Spring Faculty News

Molly Morin (Assistant Professor of Studio Art, 2011-13) accepted a tenure-track position at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where she’ll start in Fall 2013 as their new Foundations Coordinator. This is an exciting move for Molly but we sure will miss here at Millsaps!

Sarah Archino (Art History Teaching Fellow, 2011-13) is moving on to a wonderful opportunity in Paris as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art for the next two years (2013–2015).

Jonathan Metzger (replacing Sandra Murchison, who¹s on sabbatical for the year) – Jonathan got his BFA in printmaking from Viterbo University and his MFA in printmaking from the University of Kansas (2013). As explained on his web site (www.jonathandavidmetzger.com), “Growing up on the outskirts of La Crescent, Minnesota, Metzger freely roamed through the woods and fields of his parents’ farm where he helped raise cattle and worked the fields. Before attending college, he pursued a certificate in carpentry at a local community college, which he completed in the spring of 2005. This experience solidified his desire to enroll in art school and pursue a career in the visual arts…Within his studio practice, Metzger dedicates most of his time to working within the tradition of intaglio and relief, using hand-coloring and other embellishments to make both editionable and unique prints. Metzger’s content is informed by his experience growing up with his brothers within the conservative farming community that surrounded him.”
